Bill Bonnell, a soulful singer-songwriter known for his heartfelt performances, is set to release a new cover of the iconic James Taylor song “Something in the Way She Moves.” This rendition, recorded in Los Angeles, showcases Bonnell's folk-inspired sound, featuring the warm tones of acoustic guitar, the haunting resonance of Pedal Steel, and his emotionally charged vocals.

The recording session, held in June, brought together a remarkable team of musicians, including Brandon Walters of Lord Huron on guitar, Jackson Browne's bassist Tyler Chester, and Pedal Steel player J. David Carrera. Under the expert guidance of Recording Engineer Paul Doyle, the group created a version of the song that honors the original while allowing Bonnell's unique style to shine through.

“Something in the Way She Moves” is not just any track; it's a song with a rich history. Originally performed by James Taylor, it was used during his audition for George Harrison and Paul McCartney at Apple Records in the late 1960s. The song's title even inspired George Harrison's famous Beatles song “Something,” though the two tracks are distinct in their own right. Despite its legendary status, Bonnell has managed to make the song his own, staying true to Taylor's arrangement while infusing it with his own emotional depth and sincerity.

Bill Bonnell continues to carve out a space for himself in the world of folk music.

Bonnell's version of “Something in the Way She Moves” is more than just a cover; it's a tribute to the timeless artistry of James Taylor, interpreted through the lens of Bonnell's influences, which include Gordon Lightfoot, Jackson Browne, and, of course, Taylor himself. His rendition is poised to resonate with both longtime fans of the original and new listeners alike.

As Bonnell prepares to release the track, he hopes it will gain recognition on platforms like Spotify, where it has the potential to be featured on Cover Song and other prominent playlists. With his authenticity and passion for connecting with his audience, Bill Bonnell continues to carve out a space for himself in the world of folk music, weaving a rich tapestry of sound that pays homage to the past while looking towards the future.

Bonnell's cover of “Something in the Way She Moves” is not just a song; it's an experience—a journey through the emotions and artistry that have made the original a classic, now reborn through the voice and vision of a contemporary artist. Keep an eye out for this track as it makes its way into the world, and be ready to experience the soulful sounds of Bill Bonnell.
